The Bernese Mountain Dog isn’t suitable for small household or apartment living. They are rather inactive indoors and are happiest with at least a large yard. Bernese are outdoor dogs at heart, though well-behaved in the house; they need activity and exercise, but do not have a great deal of endurance.
